Bonnie Mae Fowler Marshall, 81, of Sulphur Springs, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, in Dubuis Hospital of Paris. Funeral services will be Friday, March 20, 2009, at 11:00 AM in Coker-Mathews Chapel in Greenville with Bobby Bankston officiating. Interment will be in Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville.
Mrs. Marshall was born in Carter County, Missouri, on November 22, 1927, the daughter of Charlie Albert Randolph and Hattie Florence Pritchard Randolph.
She married James Herman Fowler, Jr. on July 6, 1944 in Long Beach, California. He preceded in death in 1966. She married John William Marshall on May 14, 1971, in Greenville. He preceded in death in 2008. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Nanny liked to garden, read and bake. Banana bread and chocolate chip cookies were among the favorites of her large family. She was often turned to for advice and insight gleaned from the many years she was with us. Her wisdom and foresight will be missed greatly by us all.
Mrs. Marshall is survived by a daughter, Judy Ellen Wilcox of Sulphur Springs; sons, James Herman, III, “Jerry” Fowler and wife, Kay of Van Buren, Missouri and Ricky Ray Fowler and wife, Sandy of Van Buren, Missouri; brother, Bob Benson and wife Nita of Sanger; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sons, USMC Sgt. Johnny Dale Fowler, April 14, 1968 and Charlie David Fowler, September 4, 1978; sisters, Eunice Pennington, April 3, 1997 and Enza Harron, March 3, 2009; and a grandson, Ricky Ray Fowler, Jr., November 6, 1975.
Pallbearers will be Joe David Fowler, Jimmy Moon, Michael Sweat, Anthony Sweat, Bradley Sweat and Brian Stegall.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2009, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
