Surrounded by family and the most wonderful fiance ever, Matthew Wayne Virgel won his battle with cancer very early last Saturday morning. He is now with the God he loved, and for Whom he dedicated his life and career.
Matthew is survived by Fiance, Lauren Ragsdale of Wolfe City; parents, Terry and Vicki Virgel of Sulphur Springs, Shaunda and Joe Knight of Greenville; brothers and sister, Jodi Virgel of Tyler, Lynn Knight and Joey Knight of McKinney, Lacey Kendall of Sulphur Springs and Brian Virgel of Greenville; grandparents, Joann and Dean Harrison of Greenville, Jackie and Mary Boles and Pete and Patricia Virgel of Sulphur Springs, and Bob and Jimmie Fulton of Greenville; great grandparents, Imogene Boles of Cooper, Homer Blevins and Doug and Glenn Martin of Sulphur Springs, and Martha Harrison of Fairfield along with a host of other relatives, scores of friends and hundreds of fellow worshippers.
A special worship service in Matt’s honor will be held at the Family Fellowship of Greenville, I-30, exit 95 on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. All are invited to join in time of celebration centering on Matt’s life, his choice to serve God, and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that made it al possible.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the MATTHEW WAYNE VIRGEL SCHOLARSHIP FUND designated for helping young men and women who choose to pursue their education in order to follow our Lord in full time service.
