Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with The Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Deacon Board serving as pall bearers. Lumahn Brown, Lawson Brown, Lowell Brown, Lateef Brown Malkolm Davis Chiles, Dwight A. Trigg, Michael Rashien Chiles, Dwight L. S. Evans, David Joel Harris and Malik Davis Chiles will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Hopkins County Military Coalition will conduct military graveside burial rites.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Tapp Funeral Home.
Mr. Chiles died on March 14, at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center.
William Frank Chiles was born in Melford Jan. 29, 1915, the son of Delbert and Bertha Chiles.
He married Lourie Young Watson in the early seventies in Sulphur Springs. She preceded him in death in 1985.
Mr. Chiles graduated from Gibbons High School in Paris. He joined the United States Army after graduation and served a tour of duty in Korea. Mr. Chiles was a dairy farmer and an employee of Sulphur Springs Independent School District until he retired. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, serving on the Deacon Board.
Survivors include four sons, Delbert Chiles of California, Frankie Wayne Chiles of Oklahoma, Don Chiles of Texas and Larry Brown of Kansas; three daughters, Patricia Chiles of Oklahoma, Aileen Mason and Pocahontis “Pokey” Lee; 16 grandchildren, Maria Marites, Wilfredo Chiles, Delbert Gene Chiles Jr., Tina Kay Chiles, Michael Wayne Chiles, Lumahn Brown, Lawson Brown, Lowell Brown, Lateef Brown and Dr. Ladriah Brown, Chris Mason, Sam Mason, Eleanor Mason, Robert Lee, Victor Lee Antonia Lee and Fredrick Lee; and several great-grandchildren.
Mr. Chiles was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Davis Chiles.
