Burial followed in Fairfield Cemetery with Art York, Lloyd Lane, Troy Hughes, Wade Schrader, C.J. York and Fred Olivarez serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Jones died Saturday, March 7, at Fairview Healthcare & Nursing.
She was born in Honey Grove on Feb. 23, 1925, the daughter of Albert and Stella Carter. They preceded her in death.
She married Sam Jones. He survives.
Mrs. Jones was a beautician and owner/operator of Martha’s Beauty Shop in Fairfield before her retirement. She was a member of Davis Street Baptist Church.
Other survivors include one son, Dr. Charles Herman York and wife Mimi of Grand Prairie; two daughters, Patricia Lane and husband Tony of LaRue and Stephanie York Hughes and husband Dirk of White Oak; five grandchildren, Art York and wife Shelley of Rowlett, Valanie Goldman and husband Jeremy of New York, C.J. York of Rowlett, Troy Hughes and wife Cindy of Dallas, and Lloyd Lane and wife Laurie, and Talana Olivarez and husband Fred, all of Buffalo; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Marion Carter and wife Wanda of Garland and Lynnie Carter and wife Martha of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Gladys Stevenson of Irving and Lorene Waller and husband Buddy of Mesquite; one brother-in-law, Horace Norris of Commerce.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mozelle Norris; one brother, Roy Carter; and one daughter-in-law, Wilma York.
