Funeral services for Arvey Moss, 90, formerly of Sulphur Springs,  will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, in the Chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home with the  Revs. James Harmon and Walter Greaser officiating.
Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be held  from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 16, at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Mr. Moss died Tuesday, March 10, in United Regional Hospital.
He was born in Sulphur Springs on Sept. 18, 1918, the son of Tom and Lora Moss. They preceded him in death.
He married Jauenell Freeman in 1947. She preceded him in death.
In 1941, Arvey joined the U.S. Army, training at Camp Bowie. He served in World War II in North Africa and Italy receiving a Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart, Battle Stars and other decorations.  Among other responsibilities, his duty consisted of running ammunition to the front lines. He was wounded in Italy in September of 1945. He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include one son, the Rev. Wayne Moss and wife, Patsy; one sister, Rowena Moss Alberts; two granddaughters, Nicola Moss and Tasha Fox and her husband, the Rev. Jeffry Fox; one grandson, Wayne II and wife, Samantha Nicole Moss; and two great-granddaughters, Denae and Shae Fox.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Roger Moss; and two brothers, Roy E. Moss and Elbert “Dink” Smith.
