Funeral services for H.B. “Hank” Harrington, 84, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, in the chapel of West Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Al Davis officiating.
Burial will take place privately in Restlawn Cemetery with Don Deaton, Joe France, Knob Chapman (Billy Joe), James Cross, Mark McClendon, Bobby Gillis, Kenneth White, and Bill Bagley serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Massey, Jack Gillis, Jackie Blount, Jack Ramey, Louis McGrede, and Harold James (Chick). No formal visitation is scheduled.
H.B. “Hank” Harrington passed away at his home on Monday, March 2, 2009.
Hank was born in Sulphur Springs on Sept. 2, 1924, to Harvey H. and Irby Funderburk Harrington. They preceded him in death.
He married Nell Kathryn Springer in Rockwall on Aug. 12, 1950. She preceded him in death in 1999.
Hank was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs. He was also the owner of Hank’s Place Café. Hank served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945, when he was discharged from Fort Bliss as a sergeant.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn A. Mapes and Carol J. Potteiger, both of Sulphur Springs; and three grandsons, Mark Bates, Bryan Forshee and David Forshee, all of Sulphur Springs.
