A funeral service for Lorene B. Tarrant, 95, of Campbell will be conducted at First Baptist Church in Campbell at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, with the Rev. Jimmy Tarrant, the Rev. Keith Cogburn and the Rev. Ron Ethridge officiating.  

Interment will follow at Memory Land Cemetery in Greenville with her grandsons, John Powell, Keith Tarrant, Jeff Tarrant, Jerry Denton, Jr. Jason Atherton, Bradley Atherton and Michael Atherton, serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be held one hour before the service. 

Lorene B. Tarrant died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Briarcliff Health Center of Greenville.   

She was born Sept. 26, 1918, in Delta County, the daughter of F. M. Bacon and Mary (Wilson) Bacon.  

She married Uyless L. Tarrant in Greenville on Nov. 7, 1934. He preceded her in death in 2004.  

She a homemaker. She also worked outside the home, including Henson Kickernick in Greenville for more than 30 years.  

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Campbell for 65 years, where she taught Sunday school for more than 50 years, along with numerous Bible studies. She also served in the WMU and the PTA.   

Survivors include two sons, Ray Tarrant and wife, Nancy, of Campbell and Jimmy Tarrant and wife, Darlene, of Greenville; four daughters, Sharlyn Powell Vaughn of Sulphur Springs, Mary Anderwald of Dallas, Rita Denton and husband, Jerry, of Lone Oak and Barbara Atherton and husband, Don, of Greenville; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter Susan Powell Bennett; great-grandson Chris Bennett; sons-in-law Tommy Powell, Cecil Anderwald and Ray Vaughn; six brothers; and eight sisters.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Campbell.
