Nina Jordan, 96, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. 

She was born in Franklin County on Nov. 17, 1917, the daughter of George Washington Garner and wife Laura Roberts Garner. 

She married William Louis Jordan on June 24, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1940.

Mrs. Jordan retired after 40 years of service from Pratt's Packing Company in Sulphur Springs. 

She had been an active member of Trinity Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church before moving to Azle. 

She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Boyd. 

Survivors include: daughter Melba Joyce Wygal of Azle; grandchildren Mike Sikes, Janet Briggs and Vicki Kiraly; great-grandchildren Scott Sikes, Adam Sikes, Brittany Radcliff, Kevin Sikes, Kristy Hunter, Britt Lindley, Eric Lindley, and Joseph Kiraly; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services for Nina Jordan will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at New Hope Baptist Church in Boyd, with Pastor Jim Edwards officiating. 

The graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Mike Sikes, Scott Sikes, Sam Briggs, Eric Lindley, Britt Lindley and James Kiraly serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Midway Funeral Home in Springtown, Texas. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
