A funeral service for Alex “Putski” Leal, 58, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at the Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Annie Wagner officiating. 

Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial park with Ricky Latham, Lee Roy Luna, David Luna, Tony Gonzalez, Erik Swindell and Jimmy Stansbury serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Luna, Gilbert Luna and Roy Luna. 

A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at the funeral home.

Alex “Putski” Leal died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at his residence. 

He was born March 15, 1955, to Canuto and Conchia Leal in Pearsall. 

He married Alvina Leal on Feb. 8, 1991, in Seymour. She preceded him in death in 2011. 

He was a painter and a member of the Full House of Prayer.

Survivors include daughters Aurora Morris and husband, James, of Wichita, Kan. and Martha Luna and husband, Roy, of Sulphur Springs; sister Adela Leal of Sunset; brothers, Alfredo Leal, Sammy Leal and Canuto Leal Jr., all of San Antonio, and Eloy Leal of Stanton; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was aslo preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ora Pena; brothers, Rudy, Fred and Jimmy Leal; and stepson, Greg Aranda.
