Military graveside services for Jack Cecil Demsky, 85, Commerce, formerly of Canton, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with the Rev. Reuben Trussell officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 24, at West Oaks Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs.
Mr. Demsky died Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
Jack Cecil Demsky was born on Oct. 31, 1923, in Los Angeles, Calif., the son of Joseph and Clyda Pearl Stone Demsky. They preceded him in death.
He married Jo Nell Flowers on Oct. 24, 1945, in Orange. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2005.
Mr. Demsky worked for Bendix Corporation as an engineer for 20 years. He served in the United States Navy during WWII where he proudly served aboard the USS Orleck in the South Pacific. He was an avid according player and electronics enthusiast. He was a Ham Operator for many years.
Survivors include one son, Edward Neil Demsky of Salt Lake City, Utah; two daughters, Nancy Martin of Phoenix, Ariz, and Nora Eck of Washington, Ind.; one sister, Dorothy Erwin of Needles, Calif.; five grandchildren, Karen King of Oklahoma City, Okla., Erica White of Phoenix, Ariz., and Shawn Martin, Scott Martin and Shannon Martin, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; and six great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bud Demsky and Joseph Carl Demsky; and three sisters, Betty Joe Ellison, Kaye Yahn and Julie Demsky.
