Memorial services for Roland H. (Butch) Gregg will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 11, 2014, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Como by the Rev. L.D. Baxley.

Roland H. (Butch) Gregg, age 70, passed away Nov. 28, 2013, in San Diego, Calif. 

Roland was born on April 29, 1943, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to David Boyd and Due J. Gregg. He is survived by his son, Charlie Daniel Gregg and wife, Andrea; and Charlie’s mother, Michele; and stepson Steven Hedrick and wife, Morgan.

Roland served two tours in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran.

Gregg was a long haul, big rig driver for most of his working career and retired from Poly-America of Grand Prairie, Texas.

Roland was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; parents; brothers David H. Gregg and William Lloyd (Bill) Gregg; and sister Willie Bell Gregg Clark. He is survived by his son, Charlie and Andrea Gregg of San Diego, Calif.; stepson Steven Hedrick of San Antonio; brothers Alvis Forrest Gregg of Colorado, D. Boyd Gregg (Jr.) and wife, Sandy, of Como, Texas, and Rickey Lynn Gregg of Avinger, Texas; sisters Ruth Blanton Helzer of Meadowlakes, Texas, Ann Camp and husband, Harold, of Parker, Texas, Rose Picker and husband, Rev. Edmond Picker, of Phoeniz, Az., Christine Goldsmith and husband, Charles, of Waxahachie, Texas; sister-in-law Doreen Gregg of Como (wife of Bill Gregg); aunts Margaret Shirley Brown of Arlington, Texas, Wanda Shirley of North Richland Hills and Catherine Shirley of Athens, Michgan; cousins; nieces; and nephews.

Roland is also survived by many close friends who loved him like a brother.
