A Celebration of Life Service for William E. (Bill) Bradford, 93, of Sulphur Springs has been set for 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at First Baptist Church following a private burial service at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery.

Mr. Bradford passed away Monday evening, Dec. 9, 2013, at the Cottages of Carriage House Manor following a short illness. 

He was born Nov. 5, 1920, in Marietta, Okla., the son of William Earl and Avis Bradford.

Mr. Bradford was president and CEO of Hopkins County Broadcasting, Inc, operators of KSST radio and Cable Channel 18.

His many honors included Hopkins County Citizen of the Year and Texas Association of Broadcaster's Radio Pioneer of the Year. He was also named to the Texas Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Patsy Flippin Bradford; one son, Mark Bradford and wife, DeAnne, of Bedford; two daughters, Kerry Gillan and husband, Allan, of Plano, and Kelly Grimes and husband, Dwayne, of Sulphur Springs; three grandchildren, Andy Bradford, Julianne Bradford and Kerry Lyn Grimes; and two great-grandchildren, Conner and Tori.

  The family requests memorials to be made to First Baptist Church Hope Chest, 116 Oak Ave., Sulphur Springs, Texas 75482.

Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
