Funeral services for the Rev. Cullen P. Lacey, 87, of Cumby will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kurt Stratton officiating and the Rev. Don Laughton assisting.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home.

Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Miller Grove Cemetery with his sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The Rev. Lacey died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Carriage House Manor. 

He was born Aug. 6, 1926, in Hemphill, the son of John David and Murtie (Waller) Lacey. 

He married Lorraine Marrian Nugent in Zavalla. She survives.

The Rev. Lacey retired from Southwestern Bell after 37 years and went on to be an ordained minister in 1966, and pastored several churches in East Texas.

Other survivors include his sons, Gary Lacey of Gainesville, Ga., Tom Lacey and wife, Nancy, of McKinney, Daniel Lacey and wife, Sabrina, of Garland and Charles Lacey of McKinney, daughter Caroline Stratton and husband, the Rev. Kurt Stratton, of Frisco; sister Mary Helen Brown of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Odis Lacey, Odel Lacey and Eugene Lacey; and sisters Lucille Beard and Ola Samsky.
