Michael Hammock, 81, of Sulphur Springs died at his residence Friday, Oct. 25, 2013.
He was born in Sudan, Texas, on Feb. 18, 1932, the son of John W. Hammock and Lillie Pearl (Stephenson) Hammock.
He married Bettie Graves in Las Vegas on March 16, 1986; she survives.
He was a machinist at Angeles Can Machine Company and a member of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Other survivors include two sons, Matthew Hammock and wife, Leanne, of Hawaii and Michael Hammock Jr. of California; stepchildren Nancy Bevins and husband, Charles, and Jane Heinrich and Alan Heinrich; grandchildren Amanda Barr, Charlotte Bevins, Kelsey Bevins, Matthew Johnson, Kelly Hammock, Tyler Hammock, Carolena Hammock, Gabrella Hammock, Collin McFadden, Kellie Heinrich, Scott Heinrich and Jenna Corry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters and grandchild, C. J. Bevins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
