Donald Edward Dupree
Funeral services for Donald Edward Dupree, 77, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Spence Chapel at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Lewis and the Rev. Mark Bryant officiating and Tommy Nelson assisting.
Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Donelton Cemetery with Timothy Jason Evans, April Wyatt, Autumn Williams, Kyle Dupree, Taylor Dupree, Chuck Shelton, Tommy Glenn, Kevin Dodd and Steve Little serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sheparding Singles Sunday school class of First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday at Spence Chapel.
Mr. Dupree died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Dupree was born on Oct. 30, 1935, in Houston, the son of Edward Charles and Nora (Johnson) Dupree.
He married Mary Alice Argo on Dec. 28, 1957, in Little Rock, Ark. She survives.
Mr. Dupree retired as a pilot from American Airlines.
He served in the United States Air Force for eight and a half years. Mr. Dupree received sharpshooting awards: first in the Southwest Conference and eighth in the nation.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he taught Sheparding Singles Sunday School Class.
Other survivors include a son, Scott Dupree and wife, Lynn, of Dallas; daughters Stephanie Dupree of Sulphur Springs, Melanie Dupree of Wylie and Cheryl Patel of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren T. Jason Evans, April R. Wyatt, Autumn Rose Williams, Kyle Dupree, Taylor Dupree, Summer Dupree, Rylan Patel, Caroline Patel, Autumn Fikki, Arianna Patterson, Brandy Mayo and Sarah Groves; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Donald Dupree Memorial Fund, c/o Alliance Bank in Sulphur Springs.
