Funeral services for Billy Ray Allen, 30, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at St. Matthew House of Worship in Mount Pleasant with Elder
Timothy Sharp officiating.
Burial will be in the Piney Cemetery Mount Pleasant with D.J. Farris, Kenneth Shaw, Wayne Fountain, Rodney Harris, Vincent Green and Corey Young serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Darius Adams, Brandon Adams, Sebastian Adams, Chris Adams, James Adams and Lamar Kelley.
No formal visitation with the family is planned, however, Mr. Allen will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Tumey Mortuary in Mount Pleasant
Mr. Allen died Friday, Feb. 13, in Como.
Billy Ray Allen was born Feb. 20, 1978, in Dallas, to Wanda Allen and Billie Ray Andrews.
He attended Mount Pleasant schools and was affiliated with Lord's Way Church of God In Christ in Sulphur Springs. He was employed as a sanitation truck driver for Tabor in Sulphur Springs.
Survivors include his fiance, Nicolette "Nickey" Johnson of Sulphur Springs; his mother and stepfather, Wanda and Donnie Stribling of Sulphur Springs; his father and stepmother, Billie R. and Verdie Andrews of Dallas; three daughters, Missy Allen and Kayla Linwood, both of Mount Pleasant, and Kionna Connley of Sulphur Springs; four sons, Deandre Allen and Michael Linwood, both of Mount Pleasant, and Ira Connley and Nicolas Johnson, both of Sulphur Springs; four brothers, Stacy Allen of Mount Pleasant, Chris Finney of Sulphur Springs, Donnie Childs of Jacksonville and William Andrews of Dallas; one sister, Kamesha Allen of Sulphur Springs; and his mother and father-in-law, Rebecca and Kenneth Shaw of Como.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Lena B. Allen, and Virginia Andrews; and one sister, Brenda J. Thomas.
