Samuel T. ‘Pops’ Moody
Samuel T. “Pops” Moody Sr., 74, of Brashear died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Moody was born on April 27, 1939, in Dallas County, the son of Samuel Isom and Mary Roberta (Johnson) Moody.
He married Kathy Ann Venn in June 1969. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Moody was a professional truck driver for over 32 years and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include by two sons, Samuel T. Moody Jr. of Brashear and Bobby Moody and wife, Tonya, of Scroggins; daughters Marjorie K. Saenz and husband, Leo, of Winfield, Kan., and Zella Rubio and husband, Gabriel, of Brashear; sisters Mary Louise Dennis of Winfield, Kan., Elsie Skinner of Grand Prairie, Gracie Ramos of Blue Ridge, Florine Dzenowski of Bailey and Sarah Torres of Bonham; grandchildren Leo Issac Saenz, Gabriel A. Rubio Jr., Monica N. Rubio, Blaine Moody and Chance Moody; and great-grandchildren Aliviynne Saenz, Adler Saenz and Novalynn Rubio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers James F. Moody, J.C. Moody and Walter Moody.
A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
