Darcie Lou Pettit, 80, of Garland went to be with her Lord on Oct. 5, 2013, at her home in Garland.
She was born on Valentine's Day in 1933 in Dike, Texas, to proud parents Cleo and Lucille Neal.
Darcie was a mail room supervisor for Eckerd Drugstore. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, making quilts for her family and going shopping with her grandchildren.
Darcie is survived by her husband, Eugene Pettit; daughter Gena Rogers and husband, Jerry; son, Larry Pettit and husband, Tim; grandchildren Tracy Rogers and wife, Shari, and David Rogers and wife, Kristin; great-grandchildren, Hunter Grace, Noah William, Koby Edward and Rylee Faith; sister Moverene Deaton and husband, Harold; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, as well as two beloved black Labs, “Molly” and “Leo.”
Visitation was held at Williams Funeral Directors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013. The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at North Pointe Church of Christ in Sacshe, Texas, with interment at Restlawn Cemetery in Sulphur Springs to follow.
