Funeral services for Barbara Thompson, 72, of Sulphur Springs, have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Shannon Oaks Church with the Rev. Scott Pannell officiating.
Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Jarrod Thompson, Brandon Searcy, Christopher Young, Jonathan Young, Daniel Johnson and Marcus Harris as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at Tapp Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thompson died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Sunny Springs Nursing Home.
Barbara Thompson was born in Sulphur Springs, the daughter of Lawrence and Ella Mary Pannell.
She married Wilbert Thompson in Sulphur Springs on June 30, 1961. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2002.
Survivors include daughters Regina Johnson, Lisa Thompson and husband, Doug, Zina Young and Eleanor Harris and husband, Marcus, all of Sulphur Springs; son, Calvin Craddock; stepdaughter Evelyn Turner and husband, Ray, all of Fort Worth; stepsons Steven Thompson, R.T. Harris and James Holiness, all of Dallas; brothers the Rev. Richardson McQueen and wife, Jean, of Fort Worth, Cleveland McQueen and wife, Margie, of Sulphur Springs and the Rev. W. Scott Pannell and wife, Tammie, of Tyler; sisters Flora Clayton and husband, Charles, Billye Pannell and Brenda Lewis and husband, Ronald, all of Sulphur Springs; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Opal Pogue and Floretta Askew; grandson Antiquon Harris; brother Lawrence Pannell Jr.; and stepsons Calvin Thompson, Michael Holiness and Zachary Thompson.
