It has pleased Almighty God to call from this life His servant, Rev. Mac L. Bearss, into His heavenly presence. Rev. Bearss

served as pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Atlanta, Texas. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Jennifer, and their three children, Kimberly Bearss of Pueblo, CO., Gregory Bearss and wife, Kristi, of Hot Springs, Ark., and Suzanne Bearss of Denver, CO.; and his five lovely grandchildren, Brittany, Marissa, Madeline, Andrew and Lydia. 

He was born Nov. 6, 1940, and passed Aug. 4, 2013. Preceded in death were his parents, Leroy and Birdena Bearss.

Other survivors are his sister, Ronna Griffin; Richard Bearss; 90-year-old Aunt June Wurtz; and several cousins, all living in Michigan. 

He has been serving in the ministry as a layman since 1970 and entered the seminary to become a pastor in 1980. He loved the Lord and was passionate about sharing his saving faith in Jesus Christ. One of the family's favorite memories was his nightly routine of eating a big bowl of pecan praline ice cream and a game of Cribbage.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Queen City Funeral Home, 421 Loop 236, Queen City, Texas.

Memorial service will be Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Laws Chapel 57 CR 3111, Atlanta, Texas.

Interment will be on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Pueblo, CO., at Rose Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Mac Bearss Memorial Fund at Capital One Bank in Atlanta, Texas, 903-796-1800, for funeral and travel expenses.
