Funeral services for John David Highfield, 55, of Sulphur Springs were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 29, at West Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Fred Lewis and Bro. Mark Bryant officiating.
Interment followed at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Keith Tuck, Ronny Birchfield, Ronald “Squirrel” Wills, Danny Blount, Clay Walker, Sigmond Wright, and Daryl “Bones” Boyd serving as pallbearers.
Visitation was held in the funeral home at 9 a.m. prior to the service.
David died Thursday, July 25, 2013, in Sulphur Springs.
He was born on August 28, 1957, in Sulphur Springs to Elwood and Merle (Beville) Highfield.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He worked as a welder for Ronny’s Welding.
He was married to Lisa Taylor and they have one daughter, Amy Nicole Highfield. He is also survived by his mother, Merle; brother Tony Highfield and wife, Marcia, of Fort Worth; niece Haley Holliday and husband, Seth; and nephew Wesley Highfield and wife, Linda.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1973 and twin brother, Steve, in 1996. Arrangements were under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
