On July 24 at her quiet home in Antlers, Okla., Frances Pearl Walthall, the daughter of Ethel and Lenard Newkirk of Como, Texas, was reunited with her soulmate and beloved husband, Carol Walthall. She was born July 18, 1939.
Her service will be conducted by Terry Bryant at the Commerce Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 30, at 10 a.m. Visitation will be the night before from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will follow at the Peerless Cemetery.
Pearl had a serving soul; she was a child care provider for children. She touched so many little people’s hearts and lives over many years. She had a love for kids that was rare. She had four children of her own that she adored, they all survive: three sons, Dale Wayne Skeen, Steve Skeen and wife, Julie, of Fairlie, Texas, and Russell Skeen and wife, Michelle, of Sulphur Springs; and a daughter, Virginia Sanders and husband, Tim, of Moyers, Okla. Pearl also had a sister that survives, Carylon Ethridge and husband, Phillip, of Cash, Texas.
Pearl left behind 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Klondike Church.
Pallbearers are Joshua Skeen, Jacob Skeen, Ryan Skeen, Timothy Moody, Zack Wommack, Tony Coffman, Chance Massey and Dustin Morgan. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Skeen, Danny Speight and Tim Sanders.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Newkirk and Thurman Newkirk; and two sisters, Alyene Poe and Thelma Poe.
