Funeral services for George W. Singleton, 88, of Princeton will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. J.M. Caldwell officiating.
Interment will follow at Stony Point Cemetery in Melissa.
A visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
George W. Singleton died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at his residence.
He was born in Sulphur Bluff on Sept. 2, 1924, the son of Daniel Madison Singleton and Myrtle V. (Nichols) Singleton.
He married Mildred Louise Mulkey at Sulphur Bluff on Feb. 15, 1945. She preceded him in death in 2000.
He was a retired engineer from Belo Broadcasting and he was of the Protestant faith. He served in the United States Navy as a medic in the United States Marines.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanie Schmeichel of Princeton; grandchildren Tracey Ratliff Lowden and Ronald Royce Ratliff II; and great-grandchildren Gabriel Babb, Shannon Marie Lowden, Timothy Scott Lowden and Grayson N. Lowden.
He was preceded in death by two infant brothers, a sister and two adult brothers, Oren Wilson and Harold Dean Singleton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
