A graveside service for Sue Byrd, 90, of Whitehouse, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Restlawn Memorial Park at 2 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, with the Rev. Ron Byrd, the Rev. Jordan Byrd and the Rev. Charles Moore officiating.
No formal visitation is scheduled.
Mrs. Byrd died Thursday morning, July 18, 2013, at her residence.
Sue Byrd was born in Palestine Sept. 14, 1922, the daughter of Harvey Cockerham and Theopa (Whitley) Cockerham.
She married R. L. Byrd in Jacksonville on March 8, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1979.
She was a librarian and a homemaker. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and she was a former worthy matron of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Ron Byrd and wife, Tanye, of Whitehouse; grandchildren Katie Byrd Gibson, Blair Byrd Streit, David Byrd Streit, Jordan Byrd and Joshua Byrd; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Richard Byrd and Randy Byrd; and a sister, Robbie Colleen Brooks.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Sulphur Springs.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
