A funeral service for Edward Hankins, 62, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Alvin Barber officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Edward Hankins died at his residence Tuesday, June 30, 2013.
He was born in Hopkins County, Oct. 3, 1950, the son of O. E. and Florence Hankins.
He was a truck driver for over 40 years and he was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of VFW Post 8560.
Survivors include a daughter, Hannah Hankins Tatum and husband, Riley, of Sulphur Springs; two sons, Billy Hankins and Patrick Matthews, both of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Ovaline Barber and husband, Alvin, of Winnsboro and Lovanda Hoffman and husband, Billy Bob, of Pickton; three brothers, Butch Hankins of Cypress Springs, Bobby Hankins and wife, Teena, of Saltillo and Gerald Wayne Hankins and wife, Laquita, of Winnsboro; and grandchildren Trevor, Ashley, Lainey and Hayleigh.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Don Hankins.
Memorials may be made to VFW Post 8560.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
