Funeral services for Auvis Oleta May, 96, of the Shirley community will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday, June 17, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Ray officiating. 

Interment will follow at Miller Grove Cemetery with John Tyson Cox, Brian Anthony Cox, John Michael May, Darrell David May, Clark Lester May and John Willard Cox serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. May died Friday, June 13, 2013, at Hunt County Regional Hospital in Greenville. 

Mrs. May was born Oct. 6, 1916, in the Shirley community, the daughter of Robert D. and Vessie (Gooslby) Adair. 

She married Hebert Lester May on June 17, 1939. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1974. 

Mrs. May was a homemaker and a caretaker to several ladies. 

She was of the Baptist faith. 

Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Cox of Caddo Mills; son Derrell May of Miller Grove; sister, Alice Russell of West; grandchildren, Tyson Cox of Greenville, Trent Cox of Ethiopia, Tony Cox of Caddo Mills, David May, Clark May, Amanda May all of Miller Grove, and John Michael May of Mesquite; and great-grandchildren, Demi Weatherford, Kalea Weatherford, Addison May, Brooklyn May, Kellen Cox, Jack Cox, Riley Cox, Garrett Cox, Ty Cox, Lilly Cox, Chandler Cox and Desta Cox.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers Pat Adair, Bill Adair and Dan Adair; sister Mozelle Walker; and one son, Lester Carroll May.
