Graveside services for J.C. “Mutt” Richardson, 74, of Sulphur Springs, formerly of Edgewood, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12,
at Sand Flat Cemetery in Grand Saline.
Mr. Richardson died Tuesday, Feb. 10, in Sulphur Springs.
J.C. Richardson was born in Bogue Chitto, Miss., on March 4, 1934, the son of Johnnie and Dora Bailey Richardson. They preceded him in death.
He married Opal May Richardson. She preceded him in death. He married Dorothy Williams on March 10, 1999. She survives.
Mr. Richardson was a migrant worker in Louisiana until moving to Texas in the 1950s. He owned and operated several wrecking yards in Dallas before retiring in 2000.
Other survivors include six daughters, Carol Boyd of Shelton, Wash., Dorothy Sue Williams and Belinda Keyes and husband, Mark, all of Sulphur Springs, Robin Breckenridge of Lafayette, La., Vera Langeven of Gram, Wash., and Brenda Hamlin of Salem, Org.; four sons and a daughter-in-law, Charlie Williams, Lucas Williams, Jimmy and Kayla Williams, all of Sulphur Springs, and David Williams of Hot Springs, Ark; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
