A funeral service for the Rev. Cecil Dodd, 72, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, with the Rev. Michael Stone and the Rev. Russell Dulude officiating.
A military graveside service, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, will follow at Greenview Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Dodd, Landon Dodd, Brian Dodd, Randy Jenkins, James McCoy and Jim Foley. Honorary pallbearers will be members of First United Pentecostal Church.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, May 17, at the funeral home.
Cecil Dodd died Friday, May 17, 2013, at home.
He was born in Hopkins County, the son of Elton Edward and Nina Ailene Dodd.
He married Linda Sue Stevens in Sulphur Springs on Feb. 3, 1961. She survives.
He was a retired teacher and minister at First United Pentecostal Church.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Other survivors include a son, Jeffery Grant Dodd of Sulphur Springs; daughter Jana Lynnette Dodd of Sulphur Springs; sister Bonnie Rubarts of McKinney; brothers Donald Lee Dodd, Richard Dodd, Glen Dodd and Joe Dan Dodd, all of Sulphur Springs, and Rayford Dodd of Paris; and granddaughter, Anjelica Sewell.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Hoffman, and a grandson, Brendon Keith Dodd.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of First United Pentecostal Church in Sulphur Springs.
