Funeral services for James Lee "J.D." Darden, 43, of Huntsville, Ala., formerly of Tyler, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Greater Love Temple C.O.G.I.C
. Temple in Tyler with the Rev. George W. Franklin officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery with Fredrick Harris, Stephone Wigfall, Ebony Wigfall, Donnie Pride, Lechester Moore and Christopher Roland serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Ja’rome Wilson, Ja’rode Wilson, Chip Miles, Reggie Petgrew, Olando Wigaware, Rayford Black, Terance Pride J’rode, Sacajun Darden and John W. Hamilton.
There will be no formal visitation.
Mr. Darden died Saturday, Feb. 7, in Huntsville Hospital of Alabama.
He was born in Lubbock on May 4, 1965, the son of Berma Jones and John L. Robinson. They survive.
Mr. Darden owned and operated Jani-King Janitorial Service. He was a member and deacon of Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
Other survivors include two daughters, Jawan Udom of Arlington and Tanyea Darden of Tyler; seven sisters, Verna Williams, Linda Roland and Demetra Darden, all of Tyler, Bessie Webb of Houston, and Freddie Alsobrooks, Veronica Dial and Elvria Dial, all of Sulphur Springs; nine brothers, Ricky and Chris Darden of San Antonio, Matthew Darden of Huntsville, Ala., Gary Darden and Tommy Manus of Dallas, Chris Hill and Charles Yarbrough of Sulphur Springs, Fred Finney of Desoto and Rayford Black of Tyler; and one grandson, Master Reed of Huntsville, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jimmie Wigfall.
