Funeral services for Wanda Wallace, 74, of Cumby will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, with the Rev. Jim Moore, the Rev. Harvey Snider and the Rev. Richard Deteau officiating.
Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the funeral home.
Wanda Wallace died at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
She was born in Gober on July 12, 1938, the daughter of Vernon T. Arterbury and Birdie A. (Woods) Arterbury.
She married Marshall Wallace in Durant, Okla., on May 17, 1976. He survives.
She was an executive director of Cumby Housing Authority and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She was president of Black Jack Grove Sisters for 15 years, church clerk for Cornerstone Baptist Church for 15 years, tax counselor for 36 1/2 years, previous member of Lions Club of Cumby, real estate and insurance broker for 12 years, Cumby city judge for five years and a member of the Cumby City Council.
Other survivors include daughters Therisa Goodwin of Greenville, Mary Taylor and husband, David, of Orange and Teresa Birchfield and husband, Howard, of Sulphur Springs; sons Vernon Wayne Melton and wife, Shirley, of Caddo Mills and Jimmy Wallace of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Birdie Fullenwider; sister Doris Soper; daughters Tammy Melton, Cora Lynn McAbee and Nancy McClure; son Roger Melton; and grandson Randy McClure.
