Funeral services for Harace Hammond, 75, of Simms, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel, 1015 N. Kings Highway in Nash, with Randy Johnson officiating.
Interment will follow in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the funeral home.
Harace Eldon Hammond died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 21, 1933, in Sulphur Springs.
He was a retired Baptist minister, having pastored at the Country Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs; was a retired teacher, having taught for the Miller Grove Independent School District; and was a member of the Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Lemon Hammond; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Ted Adkins of Sterrit, Ala., and Donna and Randy Johnson of Wake Village; two brothers, Don Hammond of Sulphur Springs and Charles Hammond of Huntsville, Ala.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
