Memorial services for Charles Raymond McDaniel, 79, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Lewis and the Rev. Mark Bryant officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the church.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Hebert, Wyman Prater, Bill Rogers, Wayne Hamrick, Jeff Caldwell, Johnny Ross and John Sharber.
Mr. McDaniel died Feb. 22, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 21, 1934, in Madison, Kan., to Charlie Russell and Dica Lavanda (Dixie Oldham) McDaniel.
He married Wyvonne Clapp in Borger in 1955. She survives.
Mr. McDaniel served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.
He graduated from West Texas State University with a degree in geology. For 37 years, he worked as a production engineer for Diamond Shamrock and B.P., in the Texas Panhandle and Western Oklahoma. He retired in 1997.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs, as well as the American Petroleum Institute and Ducks Unlimited.
Others survivors include two daughters, Shannon McDaniel Forsman and husband, Wade, of Sulphur Springs, and Sharron Andrews and husband, Jeff, of Pampa; son Shawn McDaniel and wife, Cara, of Grapevine; grandchildren Sarah Forsman, Rachel Andrews, Drew Forsman, Collin McDaniel, Rebekah Andrews, Ruth Andrews and Aaron McDaniel; brothers Clarence McDaniel and wife, Phyllis, of Borger, James McDaniel and wife, Nikki, of Lindale, and John McDaniel and wife, Annette, of Lubbock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Donations can be made to the ROC at the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs or the American Cancer Society.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
