A memorial service for Lara Reiner will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2009 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Randles officiating.
Lara died on January 26, 2009 at Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida from complications of Hepatitis. A memorial was held in Miami on Friday January 30, 2009. Cremation was accorded by Stonfill Funeral Home in Miami. Lara was born in Corpus Christi, TX, on July 12, 1967 the fifth daughter of Harold and Dorothy Reedy.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1988 in Sulphur Springs. She is survived by her husband, Dave Reiner, father Harold Reedy, step-mother, Kay Reedy, four sisters, Gail Powell and her children Clint and Amanda of Royse City, Leigh Ann Gatti and daughter Heather of St. Croix U. S. Virgin Islands, Lisa Beattie and husband Bill and children Billy, Holly and Danny of Humble, TX and Linda Reedy of Rosharon, TX and several aunts and uncles. Lara graduated from Sulphur Springs High School and attended College at North Texas State her first year after high School and her final three years of College at Texas A & M Commerce. She worked in merchandising at Dillard’s Department Stores, Burlington Coat Factory and Fossil Watch Co. prior to moving with her husband to Miami. She was on the board of Friends of the Everglades and was the office manager for the Law Firm Reiner and Reiner of which her husband Dave is a partner and vice president. Lara was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs where she was active in all youth music programs directed by Rev. Fred Randles in her youth. In high school at Sulphur Springs she was a member of the Blue Blazes Drill Team and was a contestant in the Dairy Festival and a member of the Who’s Who in American High Schools. Lara made many friends everywhere she went and she kept in touch with many of these friends by e-mail and telephone over the years. Local arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home..
