Billie K. Temples of McKinney died peacefully on Jan. 23, 2013.
He was born Aug. 31, 1921, on a farm near Sulphur Springs.
After serving his country in the Pacific during WWII, Bill and his wife, Arlene F. McDonald Temples, settled in Dallas.
Bill had a long and distinguished career working for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1980.
He was very active in his church serving as deacon, Sunday school director and made countless homebound and hospital visits.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ewing and Ethel Temples; a brother, Lyn Temples; and his wife, Arlene F. McDonald Temples, after 53 years of marriage.
He is survived by son and his wife, Jerry and Elizabeth Temples of McKinney; daughter Donna Temples Wortham and her husband, Sam, of Sante Fe, N.M.; brother, Aubrey Temples and his wife, Gwin, of Carrollton; sister Rosemary Gregg and her husband, Bill, of Dike; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are set at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano.
A military graveside service, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, will follow at Shooks Chapel Cemetery in Hopkins County, Texas, at 2:30 p.m.
