Funeral services for Marchetta Bone, 85, of Mount Vernon will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon with the Rev. Fred Randles, the Rev. Pepper Puryear and the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Pilgrims Rest No. 1 Cemetery in Rains County with Ronald L. Bone, Michael Shipp, Ricky Shipp, Jimmy Ship, Douglas Shipp, Stanley Shipp, Larry Bone and Mike German serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Sam Harvey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bone died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Medical Center of Lewisville.
She was born July 3, 1927, in Rains County, the daughter of Roy McKee and Donna Marie Bishop Shipp.
She married Elvis Odell Bone Nov. 23, 1950. He preceded her in death in May 1988.
Mrs. Bone was a licensed beautician for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Sulphur Springs Financial Club, secretary of Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Silver Tone Choir, Big Sandy ISD tax assessor, CEO of Family Builders and a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon.
Survivors include daughters Beverly Millison and husband, Chip, of Flower Mound, Linda Baird and husband, Kelly, of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Amy Nicole Millison of Flower Mound, Kristy Michelle Baird, Krystal Lynn Baird and Christopher Thomas Baird of Mount Vernon; five great-grandchildren, Bryson Kale Porter, Hayden Kountz Baird, Olivia Kelly Baird, Keylee Michelle Baird and Nathaniel Austin Millison; and three brothers Travis Shipp and wife, Audrey, of Big Sandy, Kenneth Shipp and wife, Joyce, of Emory and Roy Don Shipp and wife, Myra, of Quitman.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Earl Shipp.
