A graveside service for Cleta Childress, 81, of Brashear will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Brashear Cemetery with the Rev. David Burns officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Childress died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
Cleta Childress was born in Saltillo July 25, 1931, the daughter of Jim Bennett and Lillian [Dillon] Bennett.
She married H. J. Childress in Farmersville on June 16, 1949. He preceded her in death in 2001.
Mrs. Childress was a retired LVN and a member of Brashear Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Hughes of Iowa and Jo Ann Potter and husband, Randy, of Brashear; two sons, Craig Childress of Brashear and Kris Childress and wife, Lisa, of Sulphur Springs; one brother, Jesse Bennett and wife, Gayle, of Rockwall; grandchildren Melissa Wyly, Bridgette Childress, Brad Hughes, Brian Potter, Kason and Kip Childress and Erica Turrigianni; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Janez Bennett; one brother, R. B. Bennett; and one infant grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
