Funeral services for Mark David Bennecke, 51, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joel Tiemeyer officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at West Oaks Funeral Home. A private family interment will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Patroon Cemetery in Patroon, Texas.
Pallbearers will be John Sellers, Bill Hardage, Doug Williams, Mark Chadwell, Todd Williams Jr. and Curry Dawson.
Mark passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 20, 1961, in Chicago, Ill., the son of David Bennecke and Joan York Wolff. Mark married Tammy Kay Williams Bennecke. She survives.
He and his wife owned La Pooch Pet Resort in Sulphur Springs.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by parents, David Bennecke of Las Vegas, Nev., and Joan York Wolff of Dixon, Ill.; sons Mark David Bennecke II of Wheaton, Ill., Austin Leigh Bennecke of Sterling, Ill., and Jarred Cole Bennecke of Schumburg, Ill.; step-son Derrek Cooper of Mineola, Texas; brothers Todd Wolff of Dixon, Ill., and Scott Wolff of Third Lake, Ill.; sisters Vicki Hager of Rockfall, Ill., Dawn May of Marseilles, Ill., and Windy Bennecke Lee of Las Vegas, Nev.; and grandchild Gentri Mae Cooper of Mineola. He was the son-in-law of Ray and Kathy Williams.
Prior to owning the La Pooch Pet Resort, Mark served as general manager for WAHL Corp., Animal Products Division, winning many awards to show for his work in the business.
He moved to Texas to fulfill a dream to have a 5-star pet resort and spa. He accomplished this in five years since starting the business. He was so proud of their facility and the work he was doing. He loved his patrons and considered each dog as part of the family. His smile and outgoing personality will be missed by many.
