A funeral service for Myrtie Shipley, 87, of Mesquite, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at Davis Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Hall and the Rev. Andy Comer officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery with Todd Taylor, Travis Taylor, Jerry Lamb, Mack Newsome, Jack Brooks and Monty Tipps serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Colson Troy Taylor.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shipley died Thursday evening, Jan. 10, 2013, at Texas Regional Medical Center in Sunnyvale.
Myrtie Shipley was born in Dennison on April 28, 1925, the daughter of Bee Gafford and Lela Newsome.
She married Billy Coppedge, who preceded her in death. She married Troy Shipley, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Shipley was retired from various retail stores and a member of Davis Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Suzanne Taylor and husband, Kerry, of Mesquite; one sister, Mildred Weaver of Dallas; her grandchildren, Todd Taylor and wife, Kobi, and Travis Taylor; and her great-grandchildren, Laynie Taylor and Colson Taylor.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, T. D. Gafford.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
