Funeral services for William L. Garner, age 68, of Brashear, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2009, at Brashear Baptist Church with Bro. David Burns officiating.

Burial will follow at the Brashear Cemetery with Don Goen, Rex Acker, Clovis Boring, Glen George, Jimmy Cameron, Gene George, Jimmy Hale and Randy Potter serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Lee, J. D. Hunt, Kurt Hansford and Gereald Goodson. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at West Oaks Funeral Home.

William (Bill) Garner passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009 at his residence following a diligent battle against cancer.

William was born on October 01, 1940, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, the son of James William (Bill) Garner and Edith L.Vickers. He married Iva Nell Clifton on January 25, 1979, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Iva Nell preceded him in death on September 22, 2008. William attended Brashear Baptist Church.

William was a dedicated employee with E-Systems for 30 years, never taking a sick day or being late. He was awarded numerous “Company Suggestion Awards” while employed there. He was an avid organic gardener and had a passion for hunting, fishing and tinkering in his shop.

William is survived by his children Roger Anthony (Tony) Garner and Delethia of Lone Oak, Larry Fisher, Jr. and Nickie of Brashear, Suzie Anderson and Kevin of Sulphur Springs, Linda Throndson and Paul of Corinth, Missey Mechele Cagle and Roger of Sulphur Springs.

‘Paw’ is also survived by his grandchildren Amber Morgan, Dee Garner, Toni Garner, LeAnn Garner, Cody Pippin, Valorie Fisher, Julie Fisher, Kris Anderson, Jordan Anderson, Zach Throndson and Logan Throndson. He is also survived by one brother, Gerald Garner and sister Barbara Filter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, William Thomas (Buddy) Garner and brother Harvey lee Garner.
