Funeral services for E. Max Gilpin, 79, of Ridgeland, Miss., were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct 22, at Wright and Furguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland, Miss.
Interment was in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Gilpin died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, in Ridgeland, Miss.
E. Max Gilpin was born Jan. 22, 1933, in Brinker.
He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, was a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a bachelor of science in geology and graduated from the University of Colorado with a master of science in geology. He served in the U.S. Air Force starting in 1956 as a photo interpretation specialist, and honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant. He retired after 50 years as a petroleum geologist, mostly working in Shreveport, La.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; sons Kert Maxwell Gilpin and wife, Michelle, of South San Francisco, Calif., Luke Donaldson Gilpin and wife, Amber, of Fort Worth, and Tim Newton Gilpin and wife, Beth, of Fort Worth; a stepson, Ken Lewis of Brandon, Miss.; five grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
