A funeral service for Lucille George, 72, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Pogue and the Rev. John Pangle officiating.
Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Michael Salazar, Tra George, Jason Beaver, Chuck Marzek, Jeremy Griffin and Ricky Denson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be David Gentry and Tanner Gilbreath.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the funeral home.
Lucille George died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Sulphur Springs Health & Rehab.
She was born in Childress, on July 10, 1940, the daughter of Benjamin Cannon and Beulah (Jackson) Cannon.
She married Jimmy Alfred George in Hugo, Okla., on July 12, 1957. He preceded her in death in 2002.
She was retired from Southern Optical and a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Gentry and husband, David, of Dallas and Diane Busby of Sulphur Springs; one son, Jimmy George Jr. of Sulphur Springs; six grandchildren, Amber Busby, Tra George, Brinni Gentry, Tanner Gilbreath, Maddi Gentry and Carlye George; and two great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Callie.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Winfred Craig, Tommy Jones, Floyd Cannon and Robert Cannon.
