Funeral services for Ethel Marcine Gilbert, 90, of Lubbock, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in the Ford Chapel of First Baptist Church of Lubbock with the Rev. John Ballard officiating.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at the Yantis Cemetery in Wood County.
Mrs. Gilbert died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012.
Ethel Marcine Gilbert was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Yantis, to Frank and Pinkie May Nolen Frazier.
She married James Harvey Gilbert on May 9, 1942. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Mrs. Gilbert worked as a nurse in hospitals in Sulphur Springs and McKinney, before moving to Lubbock in 1986. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, James Gilbert and wife, Susie, of Spring; two grandsons, Matthew Gilbert and wife, Karen, of Baytown and Justin Gilbert and wife, Celina, of Lake Jackson; a granddaughter, Lisa Gorski and husband, Scott, of Long Beach, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren, Rachael, Megan, Hannah, Gretchen and Mia-Noel Gilbert.
