Graveside services for Melba G. Sparks, 94, of Pickton are scheduled for 11a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Old
Pickton Cemetery in Pickton.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, with a memorial service following at 2 p.m., both at Beaty Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Mrs. Sparks died on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, in Tyler.
Melba G. Sparks was born on Oct. 26, 1917, in Haynesville, La., to the late Floyd and Lela Garrett.
She married Valton H. Sparks. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Pickton.
Surivors include two sons, Jack Elza and wife, Sue, of Hindhead, United Kingdom, and Pat Elza and wife, Elaine, of Tyler; one grandchild, Tina Willyerd and husband, Kevin, of Kingswood; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
