Funeral services for Opal Buckholt Bevill, 97, of New Braunfels, formerly of Hopkins County, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, in Tapp Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. David Burns officiating.
Burial followed in Yantis Cemetery with Conrad Bevill, Royce Dean Harper Jr., Larry Vaughn, Glen Jones, Jeff Jones and W.J. Carter serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Bevill died Monday, Jan. 26, in New Braunfels.
Opal Buckholt was born Aug. 3, 1911, in Miller Grove, the daughter of Frank Buckholt and Alice Adair Buckholt. They preceded her in death.
She married Lester Theodore Bevill on Sept. 16, 1928. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bevill was a homemaker. She was a member of Park Street Baptist Church in Greenville.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna Jones of New Braunfels, Maritta Hunter of Desoto and Billie Harper of Wichita, Kan.; one brother, Clifton Conrad of Waxahachie; one sister, Nancy Smith of Brashear; six grandchildren, Royce Dean Harper Jr., Richard Harper, Sabrina Blaylock, Beth Koenig, Lauren Bevill and Hunter Bevill; and four great-grandchildren, Cody Harper, Staci Hunter, Jehri Hunter and Holli Hunter.
Mrs. Bevill was also preceded in death by two infant children, Shirley and Janell Bevill; one grandson, Jeff Hunter; one granddaughter, Wendy Wood; five sisters; and one brother.
