A military graveside service for James Crowder, 93, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, in Odd Fellows Cemetery

under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, with Brother Tommy Hall officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Francis, Sidney Nelson, Paul White and Justin Yager.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Mr. Crowder died Monday morning, Jan. 19, at his residence.

James Crowder was born in Indianapolis, Ind., on Jan. 26, 1915, the son of James Thomas and Mary Ellen Chesher Crowder.

He married Patricia Mae Thomas in Indianapolis, on Oct. 5, 1946. She survives.

Mr. Crowder was an assembler for Wal-Mart. He served in the Indiana National Guard, then in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Other survivors include two daughters, Carol Ann and husband Curtis Dixon, and Linda K. Crowder, all of Sulphur Springs; and one son, James E. Crowder of Escondido, Calif.

He was preceded in death by six sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Hopkins County Veterans Memorial or to the Leukemia Foundation.
