Shirley Kay Andrews of Como, TX passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at her home. She was 63. Shirley was born in Springer New Mexico, the daughter of Kenneth Leroy Richards and Geneva Angelina Yarbrough Richards on April 17, 1945. They survive.
Mrs. Andrews was a graduate of Oklahome State University with a Bachelors Degree. She was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She married Mike Andrews in Lubbock, TX on May 25, 1965. He survives. Mrs. Andrews will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by a son and his wife, Jason and Jana Andrews of Como, TX; a daughter and her husband, Lisa and Benjamin Jack of Newport Beach, CA; a brother and his wife, Harold and Julie Burton of Wilmington, NC; 5 grandchildren, Kelsey Andrews, Caden Andrews, Brynden Andrews, Braxton Andrews of Como, TX, and Ryan Jack of Newport Beach, CA.
Visitation is scheduled for tonight, Friday, January 16, 2009 from 6 – 8 p.m. at West Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the main sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs, TX with Rev. Charles Wilson and Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Interment will take place in the Richland Cemetery with Gary Leftwich, Gary Green, Jim Murray, Philip Therwanger, Eddie Hale, and Stan Heaps serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Stewart Ham, John Ginn, Doug Evans, and the Sunday School Class.
