Funeral service for Florene Rhoden Thompson, 88, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Evening Chapel CME Churchwith Pastor Fergus Jacobs officiating.
Burial will follow in Stout Cemetery in East Point with Stephen Johnson, Rickie Young, Demetrius Pryor, Jaron Pryor, David Hunter and Marques Johnson serving as pallbearers.
Viewing will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Mason & Mason Mortuary.
Mrs. Thompson died Sunday, Jan. 4, at Carriage House Manor.
Florene Rhoden Thompson was born on Nov. 10, 1920, the daughter of Josie and Elix Rhoden. They preceded her in death.
In 1947, she married O.B. Thompson. He also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Thompson attended school in East Point and Quitman school districts.
She relocated to Sulphur Springs from Mineola following the death of her husband. She was a faithful member of Evening Chapel CME Church.
Survivors include one sister-in-law Johnie Mae Rhoden.
