LAYFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Organizers expect a big turnout at a rally to oppose the drilling moratorium in the Gulf of Mexico.
The rally, scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Lafayette Cajundome, is expected to draw 15,000 to 20,000 people wanting to show concern about the halt of deepwater oil well drilling imposed by the Obama administration.
Opponents claim the moratorium has "brought economic recovery in Louisiana and along the Gulf Coast" to a standstill.
