United Way fund drive within 5 percent of goal

Hopkins County United Way officers Tuesday were hoping to put this year’s campaign to bed. Campaign cochairs Markeda Fisher and Kayla Price even wore their pajamas, brought several books and one special bedtime story in readiness.

Symphony League auction set Nov. 19 - Items include giant TV, plane ride and Nintendo Wii

The annual fundraising auction for the Sulphur Springs Symphony League and the Northeast Texas Symphony Orchestra will be held Saturday, Nov.  19, from 6 p.m. until “the goodies are gone,” according to symphony league president Dwight Corley.
