Commissioners Court buys new vehicle for sheriff's office

It took Hopkins County Commissioners Court less than 10 minutes Monday morning to handle a very brief regular agenda.

Only two action items were on the agenda: purchasing a vehicle for the sheriff’s department and a slight change in the county’s health insurance program.

The purchase of a Ford Public Service SUV from Texas Country Ford for $24,323 was given the green light by commissioners. The sheriff’s department and county commissioners agreed the new vehicle would be the special production Ford vehicle. Funds for the purchase of the SUV were already in this year’s budget.

Commissioners also approved a slight change in the employee health insurance program.
